
LMU v1.4: Physics Overhaul, New Tracks, Setup Impact
LMU v1.4 is out 28 July 2026. New brake physics, tyre changes, punctures, two new circuits, and a rebuilt Le Mans. Nearly every setup in LMU needs looking at. Here's exactly what's changed and how HYMO is handling updates.
New Content
Daytona International Speedway and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca arrive as paid DLC under the US Track Pack 1. Le Mans has received a full 2026 season art update — new grandstands, reprofiled curbs at Indianapolis, Corvette Curves, Arnage, and Mulsanne, plus resurfaced road sections with updated track surface materials. The curb changes at Le Mans are relevant to setup. Lower Corvette Curves curbs and revised Indianapolis entry profile will change how aggressive you can be on kerbs.
The Cadillac V-Series.R Evo and Alpine A424 joker updates are also included, though these are cosmetic changes only. No setup impact there.
Brake Thermals: This Matters
The brake system has been overhauled with more accurate brake thermals, adding lookup tables for brake pad friction versus temperature curves, and separating core and surface temperature calculations in the disc simulation. This is not a minor tweak. Braking points, brake bias, and cooling duct settings that worked in v1.3 may behave differently in v1.4. Every setup will be reviewed against the new brake model.
Tyres and Rolling Resistance
Rear tyre wear on Hypercars has been reduced, with cold tyre grip adjusted to match 2026 real-life compounds. Physically modelled punctures are also in, along with improved rim heat calculation in the wet. Rolling resistance has been reworked: tyre damping improvements increase rolling resistance at low load and decrease it at high load. In plain terms, slow corners cost more. High-speed sections cost less. This affects fuel strategy and mechanical balance, not just tyres in isolation.
BoP Changes
Weight reductions have been applied to GT3s at Le Mans. LMH versus LMDh acceleration balance has been improved, and Ford GT3 acceleration has been re-balanced at some tracks. Specific per-car weight numbers are published in the full patch notes at guide.lemansultimate.com. Any car that received a BoP change will get an updated HYMO setup.
Punctures: What You Need to Know
Punctures are now physically modelled. This doesn't change how setup files are built, but it does change how you drive on your setups. Running aggressively over kerbs or carrying too much tyre wear into stint end carries new risk. Factor that into your approach.
The Joker System
Event Jokers are now available to all players. They remove DR and SR impact from single-driver events. You earn your first after 10 races, your second after 20, and your third after 30. This is a game mechanic change only. No impact on setups.
HYMO Setup Update Priority
Every car will be updated to v1.4. The physics changes alone — brake thermals, rolling resistance, tyre behaviour — mean nothing from v1.3 carries over cleanly.
That said, HYMO is prioritising cars and tracks on the weekly series schedule first. Setups for weekly race circuits go live before tracks that haven't appeared in the schedule yet. As each week's track comes around, it gets verified and published. You won't be waiting long. If you're racing something that week, it'll be ready.
